EKR material supply
Obligation scheme, not a grant.
EKR is Hungary’s Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme. EuConX supplies materials, with paperwork, to obligated parties’ contractor partners.
Free attic insulation has ended. What to do now
In short: in 2026 there is no live national free attic programme, and there is no official date for a new round. If you want to insulate this year, the realistic route is paid: 12 700 Ft/m² gross, with standard material, delivery and installation.
Don't wait for another free round
Proposals to rework the EKR rules could bring changes from 1 January 2027 at the earliest, and nothing is final yet. More on that here.
Work out the paid cost
The formula: m² × 12 700 Ft gross (10 000 Ft net + 27% VAT). An 80 m² attic floor with standard work comes to 1 016 000 Ft gross. Worked examples and the extra items: Attic floor insulation cost 2026.
Ask for a survey
The final price and date are fixed in the written offer after the on-site survey. Request one at szigeteles.euconx.com, or call us on +36 30 485 0258.
Why the attic is no longer free, and what the paid price covers, all in one place: EKR insulation 2026: why the attic is no longer free, and what it costs.
Common questions about free attic insulation
Is free attic insulation still running in 2026?
No. The national free attic programme has ended. If someone offers free attic insulation now, ask in writing which programme and which deadline it is based on.
When will the free programme restart?
There is no official date. Proposals to rework the EKR rules could bring changes from 1 January 2027 at the earliest, but nothing is final yet. We will update this page when there is an official decision.
Is this completely free?
No. Our offer is paid, turnkey attic floor insulation at 12 700 Ft/m² gross (10 000 Ft net + 27% VAT), with standard material, delivery and installation. It is independent of EKR.
What does attic floor insulation cost now?
For standard work: 762 000 Ft gross for 60 m², 1 016 000 Ft for 80 m² and 1 524 000 Ft for 120 m². Clearing, repairs, a walkway and difficult access are extra items, fixed in the written offer.
Will HEM or EKR pay for paid insulation?
We do not promise HEM eligibility. EuConX is not a HEM partner and does not write grant applications.
What should I do if I want to insulate this year?
Roughly measure the attic (inside length × width), use the calculator at szigeteles.euconx.com and request a survey. Phone: +36 30 485 0258.

What we do not do
- We do not write grant applications.
- We do not promise HEM eligibility.
- We do not carry out installation; the contractor partner does.
Turnkey, paid attic floor insulation for private individuals.
szigeteles.euconx.com ↗What is the Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EKR)?
The Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EKR) has, since 2021, required large energy suppliers to deliver energy savings. It is not public procurement, and it is not a building energy risk program. A material supplier or a website does not decide whether a project counts.
The core unit is HEM (Verified Energy Savings). EuConX supplies material; we do not promise HEM eligibility.
The former national free attic-insulation program has ended. For 2026 we do not promise a state route that brings the work to zero for the owner. Paid turnkey work is at https://szigeteles.euconx.com, at 12 700 Ft/m² gross (10 000 Ft net + 27% VAT).

EKR on the county map
The former free attic program was national, and it has ended. Pins are only places with a verified EuConX address — not a claim that we insulated every village.
